As per the latest release from Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine., on August 28, 2012, agrarians of Ukraine harvested grains and leguminous plants throughout the areas of 9.91 million hectares, or 66% of the forecast. The produced volumes totaled 25.51 million tonnes of grains with the average yield of 25.7 c/ha, declared the On the same date of 2011 agrarians managed to harvest 34.58 million tonnes of grains throughout 11.4 million hectares, with the average yield of 30.3 c/ha.
In particular, as of the reporting date of 2012 agrarians already harvested 74.8 thousand tonnes of buckwheat throughout the areas of 76.1 thousand ha (27%). The average yield totaled 9.8 c/ha.
Besides, as of the reporting date agrarians harvested maize throughout the areas of 22.5 thousand hectares. The production volumes totaled 65.7 thousand tonnes, the yield - 29.1 c/ha.Agrarians harvested 89.8 thousand tonnes of millet throughout the areas of 76.7 thousand ha (45%), with the average yield of 11.7 c/ha
